BRITANS GOT TALENT
What an amazing performance! Lucy’s ability to create a new routine as a wild card contestant is truly impressive.
Her synchronization with the music and the dogs’ fantastic performance fit the theme perfectly.
Recently, I encountered a challenge during a heelwork to music competition when my collie spooked exiting the ring facing onto a wind turbine directly at the exit.
To address this, I allowed her to decompress and then gradually trained her from a distance to desensitize her to the turbine.
While she had encountered this situation before, it was new in this specific setting, highlighting the complexity of environmental influences on dog behavior.
Working with dogs that have strong reactions to environmental stimuli and helping both the dog and owner build confidence in handling reactive situations is one of the most rewarding training programs I engage in.
Witnessing animals gain confidence and recover from their trauma brings me immense joy and job satisfaction.
The dedication and training required for Lucy and #TheTrickstars to perform their routine on Britain’s Got Talent, especially with collies, is commendable.
Congratulations to #TheTrickstars; you are winners in our hearts. If you need assistance with addressing reactivity or environmental trauma in your dog, feel free to reach out. I am here to support your journey towards growth and confidence together.
